QR Bridge support
Help for the QR Bridge app for iPhone and this sender page.
Send text to your iPhone
- Open the sender on the computer that has the text. Nothing to install, no network needed; you can also save the page and open it from disk.
- Paste the text and press Generate (or Ctrl+Enter). Long text becomes a numbered series of QR codes.
- In the QR Bridge app, tap Start Scan and point the phone at the screen. Step through the codes with Next, the arrow keys, Space, or Auto-advance.
- When every code is in, the app rebuilds the text exactly and stops on its own. Save it to the Library, copy it, or export a .txt.
If codes are slow or missed
- Use Auto-advance at 1.5 s or 2 s and hold the phone steady.
- Make the code bigger with the S, M and L buttons, or pick a smaller chunk size.
- Keep Fast error correction unless the code is printed or damaged.
- Skipped a few? The app lists them under "Skipped". Type that list into "Only these" on the sender, and Next steps through just those.
Messages in the app
- Damaged read, rescan: the code was misread. Keep pointing at it.
- Different transfer, ignored: that code belongs to another text. Stop and Reset to switch.
- Re-chunked: the chunk size changed in the middle of a transfer. Stop, Reset, and scan again without changing it.
- Does not verify: pieces from two different cuts of the text got mixed. Tap Scan New Transfer and scan one cut from start to finish. If you saved it anyway, the file name starts with UNVERIFIED.
Where saved transfers go
Files > On My iPhone > QR Bridge. They are plain .txt files you can move, share or delete, and a .txt you drop into that folder shows up in the app's Library.
Good to know
- Text is sent byte for byte, accents, emoji and punctuation included. The sender's "Clean up Word punctuation" box is off by default; turn it on only if you want smart quotes and dashes flattened to plain ASCII.
- A browser text box turns Windows line endings (CRLF) into plain newlines (LF) before the sender sees them.
